The Liability Detail Report provides a detailed view of all active gift cards with a balance from the start of your account through a selected end date. Use it to audit outstanding liability, reconcile balances for accounting, or verify that converted cards were successfully imported.
Summary Metrics
Three summary metrics display at the top of the report based on your applied filters:
Metric | Description |
Total Liability | The combined balance of all cards included in the filtered results. |
Total Cards | The total number of active cards with a balance in the filtered results. |
Avg Balance Per Card | The average balance across all cards in the filtered results. |
Filters
Filter | Description |
Location | Filter by one or more locations. Defaults to all locations. |
Card Type | Filter by Physical or Digital cards. Defaults to all card types. |
Card Category | Filter by Generic or Converted cards. Defaults to all card categories. |
End Date | Set the cutoff date for the report. Liability is calculated from the start of your account through this date. |

Columns
Column | Description |
Card Number | The gift card's unique identifier. |
Card Type | Whether the card is Physical or Digital. |
Card Category | The category assigned to the card (e.g., Generic, Converted). |
Current Balance | The remaining balance on the card as of the selected end date. |
Location Name | The name of the location where the card was activated. |
Location ID | The unique ID of the location where the card was activated. |
Common Use Cases
Auditing outstanding gift card liability Run the report with no filters applied to see total liability across your entire account. Use the Total Liability metric for accounting and financial reconciliation.
Verifying converted cards Filter by Card Category: Converted to confirm that cards imported from a previous system are present with the correct balances.
Reviewing liability by location Filter by a specific location to see outstanding balances tied to that store. Useful for location-level performance reviews or store closures.

Notes
The report includes data from the beginning of your account through the selected end date.
Only cards with an active balance are included. Cards with a $0.00 balance do not contribute to outstanding liability and do not appear in this report.
Converted cards refer to cards imported from a previous gift card system.
