Complete this checklist at each site at least two business days before your launch date.

Before You Start

  • Have one test card ready per site.

  • Cards must be swiped - please do not hand-key card numbers.

  • After testing, send all test card numbers to eCard for voiding and deactivation.

Test 1: Sell a Gift Card

  1. Open a check with items on it.

  2. From the CLOSE screen, press POWERCARD.

  3. Press ADD GIFT VALUE.

  4. Follow the prompts to add $5 to the card.

Confirm: The $5 appears as a line item on the check, increasing the total.

Test 2: Redeem a Gift Card

  1. Open a check with items on it.

  2. From the CLOSE screen, press POWERCARD.

  3. Press REDEEM GIFT VALUE.

  4. Follow the prompts to redeem $1.

Confirm: The $1 gift card tender displays as a payment on the check.

Test 3: Check the Balance

  1. Press POWERCARD.

  2. Run a balance inquiry on the test card.

Confirm: The balance shows $4.

Test 4: PowerCard Button Placement

The POWERCARD button should be accessible outside of an open check so customers can purchase a gift card at any time. The POWERCARD button should be available on the MISC ITEMS screen of your menu.

Confirm: The POWERCARD button is visible on the MISC ITEMS screen.

After Testing

  • Record the test card number(s) used at each site.

  • Send card numbers to eCard for voiding and deactivation.

  • Report any failures to eCard at least two business days before launch.
